The greasey fingers build :)

Thanks spindat I hope it turns out ok lol, I was having clearance issues with the battery box (im running a much smaller battery which is good) so I modded it out a little bit...

So im in a dilemma with the fender/under seat clearance. Im thinking to run 13" or 13.5" shockers which will raise the bike a little bit, will this make a big difference to the overall look? (I can try make more room for the original 12.5" shocker, have a few options) but it will be easier to just bolt on a bigger shock.

You can use a 13.5" piece of wood to mock it up to see what it will look like.

Ended up making some more clearance....I cut out the factory brace that sits above the shockers which is what the fender was hitting, and will get a piece of 22mm tube welded in its place which will sit about 30mm back from where the original brace sat. If this doesn't give me quite enough I will lower the fender a bit as well but we will see how it goes for now.

Have been doing a lot of cutting and grinding and am now ready to get it all welded up.....AWSOME!!!!! :bike: Once welded up, then its just prepping it all for sending off and getting sandblasted and powder coated. Does powder coat fill in small imperfections and end up smooth, or are you better off sanding and prepping everything so its really smooth before you get it powder coated?

And now im just at the final stages of finishing off the rear of the bike and getting everything lined up. Once im happy with everything ill clean up the frame a bit and send it off to get powder coated. Then its just final assembly really, finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

Just an observation, but I don't see the lock tabs on your rear sprocket. Make sure you put them on:wink2:

Yeah ill be sure to put them on chris don't want that coming loose lol. Im getting there lucky, hopefully have this all together sooner than later :)

Guys im lovin it lol  Really happy with the powder coat and choice of black (satin black). I got it done for $120 that included him sand blasting the frame first then laying the powder coat  BARGAIN imo....

 my god...I want to powdercoat my frame so much....

Btw what about the VIN# stamped on the neck? Is it visible? Sometimes it's little bit tricky there...

Do it man, its powder or nothing!!! Yes the VIN is still visible on the neck...I too was worried about that. The powder coat isn't too thick at all really. So just a heads up, basically if there is a scratch on your frame and you run your finger nail over it and your nail catches on it, it will show. So just make sure if your frame has any deepish scratches sand them out first, surface scratches wont matter. Also the satin black is a good choice because gloss black will really show any defects right up.
