I'm headed in a different direction with my build and have a solid wheelset and extras to pass along. This would be ideal for anyone wanting to switch from mags to spoked wheels....

The wheels are 16" rear and 18" front, spoked, drum brake models which have both been fully sand blasted and sprayed with 4 coats of black appliance epoxy. The paint has cured for well over 2 months now and is very very hard, durable, and easy to touch up.

They're shod in brand new Kenda 'Challenger' tires, professionally mounted and balanced, brand new rim strips and inner tubes, never bolted to the bike, and have zero miles on them; 120/90-16 rear and 100/90-18 front. Included but not yet installed are brand new brake shoes for both the front and rear wheels, brand new wheel bearings for the front wheel, and a brand new front brake cable.

Additionally, I have the drum brake specific fork lowers stripped and polished to go along with the wheelset to make life easier for anyone converting from mags to drums.

I'm looking for $225 plus shipping for the lot, I'm NW WA, 98225. I'll do my best to help find cheap shipping, I know Amtrak/Greyhound are cheaper options for packages such as these.

All of the brake linkage parts are included as well, they're just in labeled ziplock bags and not pictured.....Let me know if you've any questions.

I'm pretty firm on $225, that's what the mounted/balanced tires/tubes alone cost.

Factor in both wheels, both sets of brake shoes, wheel bearings, brake cable, forks seals, fork lowers, and the several hours of sandblasting/painting/polishing.... it seems a pretty fair price in my eyes.

Give me a day or two and I'll take a look.

I'm guessing greyhoud/amtrak might be the best bet for large/heavy box/crates such as this....

I'll pm you with what I find.

I hope you guys in the US appreciate how lucky you are when it comes to parts for the 400 Special. I would love to get my hands on those wheels and fork lowers in that condition and I'd be happy to pay $225. In fact it's a bloody bargain. Now if you can find a way to ship them to the UK that doesn't cost a fortune, I'll take them!!
I think I'll have to go and drink lots of beer to forget what I'm missing out on.

If you can figure out a shipping method you're willing to pay for, I'll gladly send them your way... Let me know!

I know from experience that shipping stuff from the States is very expensive and would more than double the cost of the wheels. One way is to find someone shipping a container that isn't full but you need to know the right people. If I come up with anything I'll let you know but don't hold your breath.
