Yea I know about your insane polishing...BRILLIANT job mate! But I am still not sure what I want... When you did it once, U have to do it always. Everything is still in a rough look so I have enough time to decide. My plan is to build the whole bike, put everything together, ride it few times, test it, find some bugs...and then disassemble it again and choose final look...Now I am workin' on my front brake (master cyl body). I have to blast it because the surface is so rough and complicated, that the sand paper is absolutely useless:mad:

HOW?!!! man those carbs are shiny! lovely.

I think this pic is distorting:laugh: I cleaned them in ultrasonic cleaner with some carb cleaning liquid (based on citrid acid) several times. They are not so clean as they look on this pic...There are some maps of oxidation but I can live with that... I saw your carbs before painting and have to admit they looked cleaner:thumbsup:

Too tired to search the thread but tell me 2 things no, 3.. about the aprilia forks (they were of a rs 125 right?)

1) Are they stiff enough? (some 117 kg vs 160g curb weight)
2) turn radius with this enormous tank we have?
3) how ya plannin to make the stoppers to prevent it smashing into tank?

The reason I'm asking is that mine is about to get a facelift and it seems reasonable swap.

Yep, RS 125...
1) Well, if I remember correctly, stock forks were quite soft...these are stiffer or the same at least...It's hard to say when she sits inside the garage.
2) I can measure it next time...I don't want to be a liar
3) Yep, there are some dampers on the lower yoke...so I will weld some piece of metal plate under the frame, next to the bearing neck...

I also found out that there is not enough space between stock front wheel and my brembo caliper from Mito...It will be pia to get it mounted (bracket, milling, drilling...not decided yet about the best solution)

Im posting this question on a couple of threads with hopes at least 1 person using rs125 forks can answer. Im going the USD route with my project but have a different set of forks in mind. My plan is to press the XS stem into another set of trees UNLESS the rs125 trees have the right numbers being as the stem is already perfect. If possible, could you tell me what the upper and lower diameters of the forks? The areas that are clamped in the triples. Trying to see if the forks I have will fit the rs125 triples and save me some time. Thanks.

Thread-jacking again but just got wondering whats the difference between USD and Euro fork of the RS125?
