Hi,
I picked up a 79 today hope to give it a new look with some USD forks (maybe) but I would love to change out the swing arm for aluminum box swing arm.
I would like to use spoke rims with disc brakes.
Did a lot of searching on the internet but not a lot of help doesn't seem to be that much information for the 400s.

Nice little starter there! Spokes are nice but expensive.........I like the mags and am just using those on my project.

This is a great site for info just use the search button its your best friend!!!! if you have a question I am sure it has been answered already......

And welcome I am new also to the 400.

Discover this today looks like the chain from the starter hit the case from the inside not sure this is common or not.

Thank you! I have a XS500 one on the way. I can't get this thing out! I will have to cut the swingarm.

Really? crap what about a ton of spray in there to loosen things up? Mine just popped out really easy on both bikes. I still have one I haven't messed with.

I got my swingarm (VTR1000) in today but I don't see it working? Keep you posted tomorrow.

The inside of the xs frame is 8" this is 11 1/2" I was told 7 3/4" but that's the inside hole...lol oh well $200 out the window.

Got the carbs totally rebuilt today. I have never seen the brass floats get disintegrated before must be that wonderful ethanol.
