79 XS 400 make over. (Slow)

Trying to figure out the circumference of the Bandit 400 Tire and the 79 Xs rear Tire. Trying to figure out sprockets any help be much appreciated.

Bandit 400 rear tire. 150/70/17 circumference (2038mm)

1979 Xs400 rear tire 100/90/18 circumference
(2537mm)
 
Got the swing arm bushings done today to fit a 1990 GSF 400.

Yes I would have made a fiberglass mold first and tried that one.......or formed up some sheet metal........I get the look your after and a hidy hole for electronics but the tank............................
 
As long as the finished product turns out great it will be ok. And for the tank purists, theirs just became more valuable. Unless they don't have one yet, in that case, it became a little harder to find.

Thanks the tank I cut up was far from mint yes it was a tank that maybe could have been saved but I would of never used it.

Got it done thank God it was killing me still a shit ton of work to do.Going to take 3 inches off the swing arm and cut out the mono shock brace and relocate it.20170819_125102.jpg

Nice work and creativity with your builds. I had a Hawk 650 back in the day that I build into a Two Bros RC31. That gas tank (lack of) capacity always bothered me. I think botophucket killed all my XS400 photos here but my website is rivenmotors.com if you want to see my stuff. Keep those posts coming!
