Petew XS400 brat scrambler build

Oh...my led relay is 3 pronged...works great...I wouldn't know about wiring in a 2 pronged one...but electrics are not my forte

The terminals on the new flasher relay probably don't match the stock connector. Should just be a matter of rearranging the wires/connectors in the stock connector. I think mine had ground/+ swapped.

Edit: A three-prong also will not work right away. The third terminal on the stock connector goes to the auto-canceller, which won't work with a non-stock relay. Remove the auto-canceller and the third pin goes nowhere, so a three-pin still won't work.
It'd be an easy fix to make a three-pin work too. Just jumper the third pin's wire in the auto-canceller connector to the ground wire in the same connector.

My blinkers seem to work on first start up and then stop after I switch from one side to the other. I have LED relay in it. Any ideas?

Check the handlebar switch, bad connection or something...clean and the use dielectric grease.
Thanks Jeff, I'll give a look. So far I am not sold on these LED lights. They seem a pain to me. I am looking for incandescent options.

They don't blink sometimes, don't work at all others. I love the look but they're pissing me off.

Well that sounds like a bad relay or if its here and there a bad connection somewhere. LEDs are great a lot of light from a little diode.

I don't know. I took a working system, replaced the original incandescents, replaced the relay with a special LED relay, and this is where I sit. The blinkers will often work on first startup. Once I click to the other side, regardless of side, they often stop and won't do anything again. I have continuity and great body ground at all 4 lamps. It has me puzzled. Maybe I will attempt another relay before I scrap them altogether.

Up high between the carbs and battery box. Rectangular looking thing.
It works by controlling the ground wire at the flasher relay connector. Not sure with your 2 pin flasher relay but double-check in the flasher relay connector whether you're using the Yellow/Green wire. If you are it needs to be rewired from going to the auto-canceller to go straight to ground.

I have already tried to add the ground without any luck. I am going to try another flasher. I think my auto cancelled has been removed but I will look thanks!
