I did it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On the Road...............Sort of......

You are quick on the rebuild. :)
I wish I had the time that you have to work on mine.

From what bike did you get this disk? Have you managed to put it plainly or had to use spacer?

Have to make time ;) I enjoy the tinkering and well its cold and wet outside so not much else to do........I need to get on a bathroom remodel but that can wait :laugh2:
As for the disc have not really messed with it. Right now it is just mounted straight to the rim and will probably need a spacer but need to figure that stuff out first. I picked it up off ebay and its for a Aprilla https://www.ebay.com/itm/380861679316

Picked up a few parts from the powder coater today and finished the carbs.......finish looks like ass but it will work. I went gloss on these as the rest is satin.

Also got a bunch of parts coming so hopefully have some time this weekend. The front disc is going for another project as I don't want to deal with it and just going to run factory stuff.......I am not a machinist and don't have the time to source it right now.

Ok so if anyone is reading this....................not sure if the 80s or 81 still not sure what year it is......was trying to fire the motor today. Had spark and fuel motor popped but that was it.......adjusted the valves and carbs are cleaned and new stuff tossed in there.......all I could get was a backfire and that's it? Hell just wanted to try and hear it run but nope.......am at a loss and wondering about wiring as I don't have it all hooked up just a few pieces of the puzzle........

Really liked my M unit on the last build it was simple........

The wiring for the engine components is pretty hard to get wrong if the connectors were still there. Did you try swapping your coil leads? Also,to me, sounds like there may be a timing issue, like you may be off 180'. Good luck you will figure it out

Yeah not sure on the coils as per wiring diagram I think there right.........I know there is a difference but chased the colors and it matches the schematics sheet I found. Will probably just open the case again and set the valves once more and go from there.........haven't been in the mood to work on it lately........

Weather is turning nice and need to get my 1100 running smooth and sell it.........I need to downsize.

It's pretty simple to swap the coil connectors to try it. I just adjusted the valves on the red one. I have a set of custom bent feeler gauges now.

Well played with it over the weekend and still was beating my head against the wall............couldn't get it to do nothing.........checked wiring and everything was good but........and I say but...... didn't swap the coil wires......just for shits and giggles tonight I said fuck it and swapped them......hit the starter and it fired.....WTF book says one way but didn't run that way......oh well it runs so am happy now to go full bore on it now.

Next step is wiring in a headlight switch and of course all the new ones don't even come close to the connectors the old one had.........

I had it happen to me and I learned about it from a friend who also experienced it. It is so easy to do. If you have spark and fuel and no ignition it is a quick check before tearing things apart. I learned the hard way on the first bike...ended up tearing it all the way down and building back up when I just had the coil leads reversed.

The sad thing is the book says one way and its wrong ????? oh well it runs so am happy at the end of a crappy day......

It might have been mentioned... But did you buy a bolt kit for your carbs or buy individually?

Nicely done

I have a really nice hardware store about a mile away and bought it all there individually. I did order the motor kit from the go to people on ebay cant remember there name right now......

Nicely done

Thanks!

I am still searching for parts but its coming together.....just realized I need to pull the front end apart as I forgot the 2 rubber dust covers on the forks......

Got a few goodies in the mail today so was able to button up the headlight finally...........its a little off and need to turn it so it will come apart again. Was just happy all the wires fit inside the headlight.......

Brake caliper shows up Wednesday and still have some small items to work on. It runs and need to tweak the carbs but that will come in time.

Would love to leave the tank the way it is but red isn't my color and it has a small dent on the left side....

Looking good. I can't get over how good the frame looks. Mine both need to be stripped down... but not this year.

Is the Tarozzi fork brace new?

Thanks and yes its a new brace. Purchased from Blast From the Past.

I love the powder coated frame. Actually all the parts that are coated look great. They hold up a lot better than paint.......

Little bit of work done...............still trying to decide a color for the tank and side covers.......thinking a metallic grey of some sort. Seat pan will be black to match the frame and parts. Thinking of powder coating it will see.

Also did the ignition and gotta love the motogadget stuff.........I love the key less stuff.
