Very good clean shape. rebuilt this spring with new bowl gaskets, needle jet o-rings ethanol resistant fuel line between them. diaphragams are in excellent shape. All stock size mikuni jets 17.5 pilot and 135 mains. I ran them this spring for a few hunded miles then pulled. Includes the xs360 H-pipe and vent hose. As with any carbs they will need to be tuned for your bikes needs. Thank you.

Yes but you would need the xs360 intake boot cages/braces that the sohc xs400 bikes never came with. These carbs weigh about 2 lbs heavier than xs400 late model bs34 carbs. I also recomend using stock air boxes for extra suport. I still see cages on ebay from time to time but they are getting hard to find. I run them on all my bikes even with the xs400 carbs.

These are what they look like. The ones that fit where only on the xs360 carbs. I don't have any for sale.

I wondered about interchangeability, there are so many people looking for carbs that are not talking about these. Do these cages surround the boots and provide extra support??I would sooner use these than the performance carbs from Mike's xs, way too many bad reviews. I wondered about the differences. I think that many think that there won't be the need to make any changes on their carbs. I had too take mine apart, clean them again and make some changes from last years adjustments. It is a labor of love with these classic bikes- but they are so cool! That is why the price on them is climbing and you can by 90's bikes for much less.

I have run these and other sets on my xs400 bikes. I still have a set on my 80. The cages go over the boots to keep them from flexing or moving a great improvment over not using them. xs360 carbs share almost nothing with the xs400 carbs. These where the first design bs34 carbs used. I have also heard them called the mark1 style. The 76-77 xs750 also used them. Parts are hard to find and some things are no longer made. I would never use the mikesxs carbs. A member a long time ago used them and had to replace many of the cheap parts in them just to get a running bike and even then they where subpar.

If youre looking for extra support on the carbs, Leon at Two Hands Motorcycles sells a very nice bracket that bolts up to the frame. I was considering buying it. The cost might be a bit high, but his stuff is high quality. I have a few of his items on my bike.

I've got that bracket from Leon. I was wondering how to support the carbs with pod filters, instead of air boxes, and then I found his solution. Does the job perfectly and yes, it's quality stuff.

These need to go!!! Price drop. I have lots of xs360 carbs parts also if you need just parts.

Still have them. Get yourself a spare set!! These are very hard to find in this shape for this price.

These are off a xs360 and are nothing like the ones used in the later 80-82 sohc xs400. They will work on the sohc xs400 but none of the parts in them are the same. They are also setup different. You would need to refer to the xs360 part of the manual for settings. I would also strongly recommend getting the xs360 carb boot support cages if your putting them on a xs400 and use stock air boxes as these type carbs are much heavier that xs400 carbs. From a pic of your bike you posted you look to have stock 81 xs400 carbs on your bike now.
