New guy, new build

Closing in on it. A few more bits to put back together. Waiting on tank and side covers. But I wanted to get a look at how the red, black and gold work together.

Really like the clean look of your bike... I feel like really making mine shine with a little bit of TLC

And how do you feel about the color combo?

Awesome, You are very talented. Can't wait to see the final assembly. Great job!

Thanks for the comments!

I like the color combo so far. There will also be some gold graphics that match very close in color and gloss with the rims on the tank and side covers. The tank will have checks that are falling away from the front and the covers will have a shop logo. (At least to start, we'll see if they are over the top ;-)) The gold also ties in with header wrap fairly well too.

Still waiting on tank and covers, should be soon. Put on the latest seat cover today. This one has a much larger top stitch and few less defects than the last one ;-) The white marking in the close up needs to be wiped off, they are layout lines.

Tank and battery covers back from powder coating! Still some decals to come but here's what it looks like so far. Pics don't capture it well but there's a brushed finish under the candy red that really pops when the sun hits it. I'll get some more shots later when the sun is out and the decals are complete.

Love the colour combo. Looks great a great, talented build. Nice work

Thanks.

I just got the gold decals on today. There were a few tiny defects in the powder coating on the tank that I decided to hide with some randomly placed checks. Saved having to strip and re-coat tank not knowing if that would even fix it. It seemed to be from porosity in weld lines that didn't pop until it hit the powder coating oven.

Be careful with those shocks. They are cheap and the ends can break on them.

Thanks for the heads up. They were cheap but they look ok, at least better than the leaky rusty ones that were on the the bike. Went 35 miles tonite with no problems.

Great result and craftsmanship. Design-wise I wish you would have left the seat pan exposed and the tank checkerboards off. But it ain't mine :bike:
