Hi friends,

On another forum I am a member of we have a series of Photo Tag games going as a way to encourage riding, discover new places, see some pics of cool bikes and get to know one another a little better.

Anyway the way this game will work is like this:
I'll start with a challenge:
CHALLENGE: Your XS400 by a waterfall
You ride your XS400 to a waterfall (or what ever the challenge is) and take a picture of it and post it up here like so:
IMG_1425.jpg

(Since I started i'll get the first tag)

Tell us where you are or any story that goes along with the photo - This is Dougan Falls just outside Washougal, WA USA Click here is you want a link to a map

Then you get to pick the next challenge:
NEXT CHALLENGE: Your XS400 next to an airplane

Now you all go get the next tag, the first one to post a photo get to pick the next challenge.

If there is any question as to whether the post actually met the challenge it is up to the person who made the challenge to judge pass or fail

Remember that the idea is to encourage riding and see the places we all ride and the bikes we ride around the world :bike: so make the tags challenging but not impossibe :wtf:

I think this is a great idea. I was a member of the Honda Rebel forum(previous bike) and they did this. Never got a chance to get involved however. Maybe now I will.

Anywho:

Current Challenge: Your XS400 next to an airplane

:bike:

the issue with these type of competitions, they die off quickly because you make an effort to get the photo and then someone jumps in and snaggles it.

why dont we have a montage of bike photos with planes, over the course of say a week and the best photo, judged by Travis gets to pick the next session.

This type of comp has been done twice now on this forum and it always dies after a month or so.

what do you guys think?

Good idea. Sounds like your experience with song writing contests is transferable. I know that if I find an aereoplane to photo today, and some snaggle-tooth beats me back to the computer, I am going to post my pic anyway!

Be warned if I win Drewpy, I am going to specify the bike in a cloakroom, or beside a girl wearing Wellingtons or perhaps a girl wearing Wellys in front of a purple Lorry.

The montage/ picking the best sounds kinda complicated to me? The photo tag game is easy and doesn't require any subjective judging by anyone.

There is no rule that says someone couldn't start another thread with that type of game. I am on a few motorcycle forums and post to at least three different photo/riding games. This style moves a little faster, so you don't have to wait a month to get a new tag. If it slows down and dies, no big whoop.

I am going to start another thread with the montage type game and we can do both. Any excuse to ride.

Its HERE

Good job Lou! So what's the next challenge?

Well, after getting the pic with the aeoroplane for Drewpy, and on my way to the little airport to get the pic with the airplanes, I took a photo of this poor guy having his licence suspended, bike seized, loaded on the tow truck to be taken to the impound for 7 days. All that for only going 50+ km over the limit.
I thought to myself, "if I win this thing I should specify the next winner will be the first to get his bike seized by the local gendarmerie, loaded on a tow truck (and then photographed of course)". Being a sporting sort, I would even decline to compete so as to give everyone else a better chance (being as how now knowing the nearest speed trap location would give me an unfair advantage).
But we don't want this thing to fizzle out before it starts, so how about a pic of your xs400 on, beside or just in a picture with a boat big enough to transport your bike to safety in a flood. Hoovercrafts can be included Drewpy!

nice to hear cockerell's invention has permenated over to your shores Lou.

Usually spelt Hovercraft in the UK!

your talking a different language there
Yes, not Mancunian in these parts.
You are correct sir, hovercraft. I think I was subconsciously trying to be politically correct and respect our language differences :wink2: - after all, Sir Christopher's invention does kind of work on a reverse vacuum principle......

so how about a pic of your xs400 on, beside or just in a picture with a boat big enough to transport your bike to safety in a flood.

TAG
Here it is:
