I might be wrong about this but with different runner lenghts on the intake manifold you may....in theory...be able to give one cylinderbits charge whilst giving some delay for the second cylinder's charge so as to prevent robbing from the first.
...but that's thoeretical at best
Idle hang is either cable-related (hanging cable,ill-adjusted tension at the handle, rusty or ill-adjusted return spring)...or an air leak at the intake
Wild guess here, if you can cold start without choke you're rich.
Go down one size on your pilot jets.
On idle to 1/4 throttle you are mainly on the pilot and air mixture Spectrum.
If you open the throttle and it dies...you might be rich Higher-up also( needle Heights/mainjets)
Ahhh the dark...
If everything comes on when you turn the bike on except the headlight.then it must be fuse related or between such fuse and headlight.
I'd trace my way back from the fuse to the headlight with my multimeter on coninuity...including the ground.
Check the fusebox connections ont just the fuses.
Solenoid post..in my sense would'nt affect charging(in my sense) as it would be an other fused circuit unless the wiring diagram says otherwise.
Open the controls on your handlebars...check for bad connections and corrosion.
Check the safety...
That kind of damage on a piston...that engine was beaten within an inch of its life.
Or there was a casting defect.
I'd do a bottom-up rebuild but that's my OCD
