"That Guy" Stories (For Another Site)

Hey all. I'm looking to build the content on my sport-touring site and, having posted to these forums for some time now, figured I could get away with asking if anyone might like to contribute to it's HUMOR section in the form of your personal favorite "That Guy" stories. If I'm pushing...

SYNTHETIC Oil Change ... How Often?

Okay, I was going to refrain but now I have to step in. @doodsaibot - That link that Dave "just posted" is from September of 2013. LOL. @volcomskater77 - That's pretty much what I was doing when I still owned mine. Try a round of synthetic, too. I've learned more about it since this post...

To Winterize or NOT to Winterize?

Grease isn't in the cable, although off topic those can/should be lubricated from time to time. The grease belongs in the components that the cables connect to. If you're replacing the gauges, cool but you'll want to clean and lubricate the system that's downstairs by the front axle.

To Winterize or NOT to Winterize?

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you've got a good ear for how the motor should sound/feel at idle. Plus, heck ya if you don't need the choke, keep it off 8-) That said, PAY MIND to this youtube link. It's my own Seca 400, sold months ago. This is what between 11k-12k...

To Winterize or NOT to Winterize?

Lou's right (and has taught me a lot across years past). The Seca has three temps: cold, warmish, warm/hot. Warmish is where you can start riding with a bit of extra angst while in first to give it motion. Here's the thing. Adjust the idle while warm/hot. Then, thwart the issue accordingly...

To Winterize or NOT to Winterize?

Cool :) I failed to mention the 1/2 choke is only for the warm up LOL (not that you would ride that way hahaha)

To Winterize or NOT to Winterize?

    1) (probably not your favorite answer) ... be sure and give it at least 2-3 minutes at 1/2 choke. 2) (more favorible but probably annoying answer) Eyeball your air filter, sync your carbs. 3) (prediction) This could be a humidity/altitude thing. Idle up. 1200rpm is the spec.

To Winterize or NOT to Winterize?

@Scorpio1963 ... Eat this: As for winterization, I started this thread in 2011 and have since learned a good many things. With concern for O and X ring chains, it's likely good advice to NOT use kerosene to clean them. I'll probably add photos and alterations to the page this year. Anyhow ...

    Brake Light Issue (Front Lever)

My brake light is "strobing" and I have *some* sense as to why. The front brake hand control, whenever the adjustable screw in the arm touches the pushable "button" (for lack of a better term), the light activates. This means that as I ride and the front lever bounces, for whatever reason...
