As desribe a very fast ticking noise like a bad lifter is a noise I hear from the left side f my bike.Could it be something as simple as adjusting the valves or worst case scenario a worn cam lobe or bad lifter.
Also I hear noise coming from the center part of the engine sounds like maybe the cam sprket and chain making noise, should I be concerned?
Could it also be related to the 1st topic I mentioned?
C Im imaging things?

I am by no means an expert but if its from the top of the engine(where the cam and valves would be) then it might be just a valve adjustment. I recently read something on it and that seems to be the symptom and the fix. and if not, at least you know your valves are adjusted. It took less than half an hour for me (hopefully that doesn't mean I didn't do it right)

I know it wouldnt hurt to adjust them,Its one of those things I dont have thetools to do the job at the moment but next week more than likely.
What about the other noises I hear,Something to be concerned about yes no maybe so?I`ll see if I can squeeze a little more life from my camera.Dam charging cord broke and havent been able to find a replacement.

Onething I noticed these bikes engines build up alot of heat in a hurry. They also cool off quickly.I switched over to the rotella T here recently and seems like engine noise got even louder. So yesterday I drained a quart out and dropped a quart of of some high $ synthetic 20-50.Seemed to help quiet the engine down alot.Im just wondering if the viscosity of 15w40 is not enough.I`ll probaly go full synthetic 20w50 next oil change.I also noticed that after a week of using the rotella when I drained some of it out the oil is stilll very clean.

So the Rotella T is fine if your going to ride in cold weather and they dont make high viscosiity oil than 15w40.That is too bad because my trans definately shifter better with it.The bottle of synthetic 20w50 has a very high zinc content which is good from what I have read. Its even higher than rotella.Expensive though for the Synthetic around $30 for 4 quarts. If it improves the bikes over all performance and quiets the engine down its worth it.Now I believe in Markjs theory of why he wants to use strickly full synthetic oil in his bike.

Could slack in the camshaft change cause the noise I hear inside the crankcase of my engine. Also notice on one side there are some direct drive gears could it also be that?Dont realy want to have to tear deep into my engine till next winter if possible.

OK I adjusted the valves and it makes a world of difference definately. While remooving the plugs I checked the burn color, perfect so I know my carb is well tuned. It smoothed the engine out also with the adjustment.
