For Sale - 81 xs400 w/ title

Had this bike running and locked the motor up. I did strip some parts off it. It's missing the wiring harness, carbs and seat.

I lowered the seat, relocated the shocks, shortened the kick stand, dropped the front forks, removed the center stand, gauges and rear peg mounts, built a mount for the tail lights and license plate. It's set up to drop the batter box back in just as stock. I do have the stock gauges, charging system, carb holders, battery box with all electronics still attached and headlight.

Will either need the motor rebuilt or a new motor, whatever would be cheaper. A wiring harness, tail light and a seat fabbed up. I can make a new seat pan for it if you'd like.

Sorry just sold it on sunday.

I do have another drum brake rear wheel and swing arm from a 650. I know the axle size is different but not sure about the mounting point at the frame.

What's wrojng with your swing arm?

Nothing's wrong with my bike at all. Just been thinking about switching to a 16" rear wheel so I can stuff a fatter tire on my bike...the tire on the 18" mag wheel doesn't look as beefy

Well hell i'll trade you that 18" mag for the 16" that's on my other 400. I think it's actually got a fatter than stock rear tire on it already. I've also got a brand new rear tire that IS larger than stock
