Hey fellows XSer's,
Newbie her from Milwaukee, WI. Got my bike about 6 months ago, paid a guy to do a hardtail for me since its my first bike and partial build. Anyway, after 4 looooong months of him procrastinating, I decided to take my bike back and finish it myself. Finally cracking into and have a few questions, but only one that needs to be addressed ASAP. I ordered one of those weatherproof ignition key from TCbros along with several other parts..., and need help on wiring. I need to know what wires go where according to the letters. I have a 1981 HS btw.

You should check out the manual of your year bike found as a stick on the garage forum. In there will be a wiring diagram that might help you. Those letters could mean anything because they are aftermarket. Did the ignition come with any instructions? I would email TCbros and ask them about that.

How many wires do you have there? According to this diagram, we only have 3 wires, and it looks like a jumper for the tail lights. Hope that helps!

Push for electric choke? Start? Magneto? Am I over analyzing that switch, or is it a marine ignition switch? I guess you could just ignore the features you don't need...

Red to B
The other 2 wires to A
Cover the remaining terminals to prevent accidental shorts.

If you want to use the key for starting, connect the starter solenoid to S

I've got a toggle switch mounted to the the left headlight ear. Headlight ears and headlight are from an xs650 ...lol. Never thought I would have the ignition switch assembly break in half, just from vibration!
