Hey,
I just took my (33mm) forks apart, replaced the fork seals and the whole 9 yards. That said I read on a particular post on the forum that you should put about 8 oz of fork oil in each fork. I read in the manual that you should put about 4.4 oz after switching the oil.
Since I did a full rebuild I removed all of the oil and decided to put 8 oz in each fork to be safe. Haven't ridden it yet but the forks seem pretty firm. Anyone know how much fork oil I should be putting into each fork? Does having to much do any harm to the forks? I lowered the bike about 2 inches too if that makes any difference.

I don't believe you can add to much oil the only thing that will happen is your front end will be too firm when you hit bumps. The forks can only hold so much oil you might blow the seals not completely sure but I have read people using more oil that 8oz before.

Quantities are listed in the manuals and it depends on the model you have.

SOHC models need either 4.4 or 4.8 US ounces (130/142 cm³) in each fork.
DOHC models need 8.9 US ounces (263 cm³) per fork.
