I saw an ultrasonic cleaner for sale here in town and I was thinking about picking it up. I'd like to give my carbs a thorough cleaning with it. I'll definitely take the diaphragms out. Should the plastic floats also be removed for this process? There is a solvent that I can buy that is made specifically for the cleaning device but I am not sure if it would be to harsh on my carburetor. I want to be as careful as possible with this. Anyone have experience with this?

The best cleaner is dish soap. I've never used anything but lemon joy and my carburetors come out perfectly clean every time. Our shop does the same for our truck parts. Also remove the O-rings from the butterfly valves or you will ruin them.

I have one I picked up from harbor freight.

I use diluted simple green most of the time and works great, just don't leave parts in there for hours on in using simple green. It will start to eat aluminum parts up
