Just bought a 77 XS360 - First project bike!

Go at it however you like, just remember how it all goes back together, haha. There is no method to the madness when it comes to these things.

Maybe have a go at the engine first, just incase something comes up and you need to replace or order something else that you aren't expecting.

I'm assuming you're not unfamiliar with engines?

Well there are plenty of people here to help if you get stuck or forget where something goes.

Good luck!

Thanks! I'm sure I'll be asking for help. Right now the work is on hold while I build a workbench, LOL. Didn't think it would be fun doing an engine tear down sitting on the floor.

Between moving into a new house, traveling for work and everything involved with have two young children, I haven't been able to spend too much time on the bike. However, I was finally able to spend a couple of hours working on the bike this morning. I was able to get the camshaft cover, cam & sprocket, head off. I haven't run into anything too difficult to remove yet. I thought the head would be tough to get off but it lifted right off. Having the service manual beside me has been a huge plus. So far I'm having fun.

Was able to get back out to the garage for a little this evening. I made a little more progress. I couldn't figure out how to get the starter out, which to me was a sign to call it quits for the day.
