...or cut the heads off, remove the cover and use the heat and vice grips as noted above- also, once the cover is off, you can get the PB Blaster down where the screws go into the head.
And success! Couldn't find a darn driver set anywhere in town but one of the guys at the office kindly lent me one. Two taps and they popped right out. On to the next problem...
If nothing else works...titanium drill bits...drill the head off of the screw, take the cover off, the tension Will release, grip the rest of the screw with a visegrip...worked everytime on my engine teardown.
