Im sure a lot of us here are gearheads and fellow xs lovers right?
I mean why would we be here if we were neither of them?
Well today Ladies, Gents, and Germs i have a project straight from the top of my mind to hopefully blow yours.
As we bring it back to the title "What to do with an an ol' 400, saw-zall, and a welder", i can't help but to think of the bike rotting away in my shed. Well today it gets a new lease on life, It will be mated to another piece of awesome, but slowly deteriorating 4 wheel speed demon .A mighty Xs 400 powered winged micro sprint. As today goes on I will document the journey.
Stay tuned for updates.

Looks like a cool project. I get that you're putting the xs400 motor on the buggy but why does the frame need to be chopped up? Why not weld new mounts right on the buggy?

I thought of that idea but at the moment i only have access to the welder for simple things, not 100% full custom mounts. It was a little painful having to cut it up, but i would honestly never have that thing back on the road and safe. . . . so its soul now resides in the car.

Im willing to buy the whole front clip from the XS400 off of you. I live in CT.
pm me and we will talk.

Well my phone ended up shattering, and have been super busy, but if all goes well and my research in the wiring is good, first fire should be today!

Looks dangerous. I approve.
haha this is just the first step of the final goal years down the line.
I have some people i know who work in a machine shop. . . . lets just say punched out to take xs650 piston liners, then punch those out to take 2x 1000cc pistons and turbo ;) . . . . you know for when killing yourself with a stock engine is not good enough.
