All over the place...Maxim/Seca build

After that I grinded the valves/valves seats with this...
IMG_20170121_085218.jpg
I put some of the compound on the edge of the valve, slip it in it's slot, put the succion cup on it and then twist/lift/rotate 45 degrees/twist.Go by sound as you can hear the "grinding" sound subside.I did that for a full rotation, then took the valve out, cleaned it off, cleaned the seat off. Then put some compound back on and did the same thing...All of this a total of three times per valve to make sure all the surface was covered.
This is the result you can clearly see the différence in the valves AND the seats.

Sooo...One of my seals went Sideways and Bent...

Luckily, being a hoarder...I have another full gasket set INCLUDING valve stem seals...:p

Put the valves in their place, put the inner/outer springs, the retainer ring in place, do NOT drop or lose these little retainer clips...They are quite the challenge to put back in...

But managed to.

Then these rubber seals need to go in with the dowels
IMG_20170122_094624.jpg
Then put the gasket on....Put the head on and torque it all to spec...

Put the valve buckets in.

Notice the little notch to access the shims are all towards the insides...This will make access easy when time comes to change out the shims to adjust for tolerances.

Then get the two cams through the chain and set them in place with the Cam lobes off of the buckets with the "hole" on the end of the cam pointing up.Put the cam caps in place, the Hole should align with the line on the side of the cap.

Then put on the tensionner/support in the middle, and put the tensionner in on the backside.

And this is where I got a little stuck...I had made the mistake of aligning the big dot on the side of the cam instead of the timing marks on top of the cam.
Apparently its a common mistake...
But thanks to 16GTIDave I was able to correct it and now all is well.

Used the right tool to maintain the valve buckets and change out a few shims to get the right clearances.I didn't feeling like messing around with cable ties and whatnot...
IMG_20170122_121515.jpg

I erred towards the upper end of the tolerances as I heard it was a good thing:shrug:

And finally turned the crank over for a couple of revolutions to make sure....Everything is good.
Buttonned-up the valve cover with...Once again shiny new stainless hardware...

Made a paper template then applied it to the tank and sprayed paint to mark it out.

Now bare in mind, the photo is taken at a slight angle, it came out good and symmetrical.

Oh and remember that R6 shock...Needed a little pop so I painted the spring red.
