So long story short. Bought a 82 maxim 400 for $200 complete bike except for the carbs. Always wanted.to make a bobber out of one. So the process started. The bike hadnt ran in 9 years so my work was cut out. Complete frame strip and paint. A little engine work and a nice set of drag bars and.paint later this was made.
Been fun so far but today out of the blue the starter motor.would not.turn over any more it was working.fine 20 minutes previously. All I hear is a click.from the solenoid. I havent crossed it.yet to check. Any thing else to check?

Check your battery, usually when I get clicks from the solenoid and the starter doesn't turn over it means your battery is dead/not fully charged. Bike is looking good otherwise!

No worries, had the same issue with the battery that came with my bike, all the electronics will come on but it doesn't have enough juice to power the starter. Got a new battery and it started right up.

Take the starter out, take it apart inspect/clean
But I would say....weak batt also
Nice looking bobber.
Finally we get to meet her as we heard so much about her...
