Hi everyone,

I'm refreshing some gaskets on my DOCH XS400, having a terrible time removing all traces of the original gaskets. Is there some trick I've never heard of?

Thanks in advance!

I have used a wire brush on a dremel with good results. Use grease on your new gaskets so the next time you remove them they won't sick.

For small covers I use a marble tile with sand paper on it to clean and make them flat. Just move the part in a figure 8 pattern till clean.

Put on your favourite album, grab a beer, and sit down. Cleaning off this liquid gasket from a valve cover took me an hour of careful scraping with a box cutter blade. Try to span across the surface with the whole blade all the time to ensure it does not bite into the aluminum.

Still needs one more pass...
