I'm parting out this bike. I've put enough time and effort into this thing. It was supposed to be a quick, cheap get running bike or i was gonna let it go. And now i am. What you see is what it is. Let me know what you want off of it, I'll let you know a price. It'll probably be the cheapest parts you buy. I'm trying to get back my purchase price of it. I had it running for a cumulative couple hoursand now it won't start and I'm done. Shoot me a message with things you might want, I'll let you know what shape it's in and what I'd like to get.
 
Is that rear wheel 16" or 18"? Im looking for a 18" rim with the whole drum assembly(not interested in the tire). And do you have a pic of the tachometer?

Unfortunately it's a 16, and I'll get a pic of the tach here in a bit for you
 
Thank you for the pics! I will pass on the gauge right now. I am interested in the Ignition Box but I'll have to research how compatible one from a 80' is with a 81'.
 
Hello, I just joined because I broke a part off the inside of the carburetor. So, I would like to buy your carbs. I only really need one of them, but I would like to buy both of them. Does $40.00 plus shipping to Vermont sound fair?
 
Sorry, Could you post a picture of it. Or at least tell me if the Throttle cable hooks on in the middle of the carbs? That is the most important thing I think.

Thank you for the reply. I am currently talking to a member named spectra about a possible carb body sale. I will have to let you know it that pans out. If not I am looking for the 1981 xs400 Special II carbs. I think it is the same one as the Heritage special. But I will not know if I need it, until I here from Spectra.

Hi xschris. I need the carb bodies from a 1981 XS400 Special II. I already have a needle kit, but broke the float post.
Do you have a set of carb bodies for this bike? Send me a PM if you do. Thank you

Sorry to anyone I missed on here. I didn't get the email notifications I had been looking for.
I took some stuff off today and next week I plan on tearing down the engine just because I can. So if anyone is looking for internal parts for the engine or trans. Let me know.
This bike did run for a while after I got it so everything here *should* be fully functional.

Best bet is to message me. I tend to get those notifications no problem.
