cant change gear

hello, i just do the topend rebuild with new pistons, bearings etc, after installing engine into frame, new oil, timings, valves etc i want to start the bike for the first time. But I cant move my shifter up or down.. I just stuck in gear and cant change it. I changed just the seal behind clutch cover, nothing else. What should be problem with shifter? Clutch is working and I can turn over the engine, but cant shift.

I had a similar problem and this is what I found. I removed the case cover on the kickstarter side and found that the link to the shifter had dropped of the pivot. It took me 15 minutes to fix it. I cannot guarantee this is your problem but it is worth a look. I also know, if you use the search funstion, you will find others had trouble getting into gear unless they got the bike moving forward first... try rolling it and shifting. Again, not guarantees but easy things to try first

yes, it was exactly the same issue, I discover this video and I try to move shifter link without removing the case cover. Successfully, take me about 5minutes.
