Whats everyone using? I know its some odd size and finding one is a PITA........may just go with a 7" aftermarket but kind of like the one that came with the bike........chrome is decent with very little rust but some there. Tried to polish it off but some still shows.....

Anyway let me know what your using!!!!! Thanks!

If I can beat the flu I'll be installing a 5-3/4" LED this weekend. Got a new bucket for it but a custom spacer ring would probably let it fit in the stock bucket pretty well.

Uses 5W less than stock and very bright.
Cheapo from AliExpress.

I gave up on the stock and went 5 3/4. I tried a cheap 7 inch one and didn't like the look. You are welcome to it if you want it

Thanks! I also did smaller one on the first build and was a bottom mount. Not sure I want to go that rout again. I do have a nice 7" for the maxim build and may steal it but not sure. I was just wondering if anyone made a decent bulb that fits these odd ball headlights?

My issues with the aftermarket ones is they do not look like all the wires will fit back inside.......I may just have to do a little trimming on the harness......

From what I am seeing there is no "right way" to do it. I have seen a few drill the old reflector and insert a bulb, but knowing my clumsiness I would likely require a trip to the ER if I tried drilling on glass! My aftermarket has load of room inside. I personally shortened the harness at the front.

Did you ever get this done? Wondering what you think of it and still trying to decide what way to go......

Somebody just bought the last one a minute ago.

That was me :laugh2: I figure I will try it if it doesn't work well I will add it to the parts pile............

I want to use the factory bucket and well its a 1/8th smaller so sure I can make it work.

Thanks for the link......I saw only one left and well.

Haven't gotten the headlight in yet.
The stock signals use a hollow M8 bolt, which threads into the new bucket, but the front signal bolts are too long and prevent the headlight from going in.
I realized the rear signals use shorter bolts so I removed all four, cut the connectors off, swapped the bolts front to back, and that's where I'm at.
Need to make sure the longer bolts won't rip into the rear tire if I bottom out the suspension.

Also realized I had previously reassembled the forks with the old fork seal boots, so the forks need to come off before I put the headlight mounts back on...

There's also not as much room in the bucket so I'll be tucking a few of the wiring harness connectors behind the headlight bucket.

Would have been a lot less work if I'd chosen to mount the stock signals somewhere else. Different headlight brackets may help.

If you go to the bottom of the page of your link there is another posted at slightly higher price. Guys, let me know how this works out as I will need one for the orange bike soon.

Got the light today and it looks like it may work............its the same depth as the factory light and sort of fits in the ring. I can wiggle it a little but seems to hold on place so going to run with it and see.......

Maybe you can find a rubber o-ring that can act as a seal/spacer. There are plenty of them out there for different uses. Auto transmission etc.

Rubber gasket material might be good.
What thickness do you think you'd need?

FYI for anyone else, more here:

Searching with the Emgo part number brings up more, 66-64317.
A lower wattage H4 bulb or HID conversion could always be done.

Not really sure but am going to look into it. As for now I just mounted the bucket as I need to mess with the harness inside before I button it all up. Going to be a while.............
