What the heck is this bike???

How far you go with the rebuild will determine how time consuming it is, along with the size of your wallet.

I may not be as bad as it looks actually. You can buy a new SS bolt kit for the engine and get rid of the rusty nuts and bolts. You can remove the side covers and clean them off with a scotch brite or something similar.

First thing I would do is look in the spark plug holes to see if the cylinders are rusted. Get some diesel or Marvel Mystery oil and dump a couple ounces in there and let it soak for a couple days. Remove the caps on the head and examine the cams and dump some oil all over them.

Resist the urge to start ripping everything apart. Be patient lol. After the oil has soaked in the cylinders for a couple days, try to give the crank a turn, You will need to remove the side cover to do this, or you can try turning the back wheel in gear.

If the cylinders or cams are rusty, You might be better off with another bike.

Thanks for giving me a good place to start! In all honesty I feel like the pictures make it look waaaayyy worse than it truly it. All the major parts are there, and most appear to be in decent shape. Really there is just a lot of Rust. It sat long enough for the exhaust pipes to both Rust to the point I hit them with a mallet and they just broke in half... But the gas tank is still sealed pretty goodgood just needs a good finish on it. There are a few covers missing and the ones I have are faded and cracked. That nut and bolt kit will definitely come in handy because even the bolts that came out (and didn't just snap off) most of them can't be used again. I am trying to take it slowly, although I did work for a couple hours tonight and ended up removing the forks and was ablea to get the engine out with minimal fuss. Tomorrow I'll break it open and keep my fingers crossed everything is rust free unlike the rest of the bike.. thanks for the help guys I appreciate it. I will post updates on how it goes throughout!
