Greetings!
I am going to be wiring up a rear LED integrated light system and want to make sure I have my ducks in line. I'm not sure what the additional Black/Ground wire is for.

YELLOW = Brake
BLUE = Running Light
BLACK = Ground
BROWN = Right Signal
GREEN = Left Signal

Additional BLACK = ??

Here is a photo:

Thanks for your help.

What year is the bike?

Look at the wiring diagram in the manual posted here on the site or search out 400 wiring diagram.

I would think the black is a ground as most of the time they are but would check the manual first.

Looks like there are 2 ground one for the main light and the other for the turn signals.

There should be a ground for the tail light, and a double bullet ground for the turns. There may also be a triple bullet for the grounds..

I consolidated my grounds in the back to a single wire that goes right to the main ground. I admit, I need to clean up my wires badly, but its been working so far.

Just so I have it correct. Both the ground wires should connect to the one Negative wire on my integrated signal.
This is the wiring for the signal I have. It does brakes, running lights and turn signals. Thanks!
