Dead Headlight

Back to square one.
Fuses are all good?
Fuse holders are all good?
Did the DOHC bikes still use the glass tube fuses?
Even if the fuses test good those holders can get enough invisible surface corrosion that they won't conduct at all.

Was chasing my tail on the 360 until I realized the fuse holder was the problem.

You said you have power going into the switch correct? Have you tried to trace that wire after and see were it goes? Should be able to trace the wires anbd find the issue I would think.

And yes the diagram posted was from a SOHC bike, I have a DOHC bike but its in pieces other wise I would try and figure it out.

@Jeff0133 may have some insight as to whats going on here........he has one and has been through the whole bike.

If everything comes on when you turn the bike on except the headlight.then it must be fuse related or between such fuse and headlight.
I'd trace my way back from the fuse to the headlight with my multimeter on coninuity...including the ground.

The DOHC doesn't have the glass barrel fuses. It has the spade fuses. The one in there looked good but I replaced it anyway. I'll take a closer look at the holders to see if there's any corrosion in there.

Thanks Jeff. Yes. Turn signals and horn work fine. There is power to the dimmer switch. There also is power at the fuse. There is continuity from the LH Switch Assembly wires to the 3-pronged headlight plug but no power. The ground is good. 1.4 Ohms. So I'll have some more checking to do. Seems like it may be in the main loam. I did see some tape on the loam cover in the area below the headlight bucket. It was late last night when I noticed it. I'll check it today and update you guys. Thanks for the help.

The Blue/Black power wire to the headlight 3 pronged plug connector died who knows where along the main harness. So instead of tearing into it I just made a jumper from the headlight fuse wire directly to the plug connector. That did the trick and everything else remains functional.

Good to hear that you figured it out. Hopefully the wire you used has a cover over it you dont want to have it short out if something wears through it. There are tons of products out there for that.

I was able to run a wire through my loom on my latest build and pull a wire back through it that may be an option for you maybe.

I zip tied the jumper wire to the the loam and put flex cover over all of it.
