78 Rebuild

Stick with stock boxes and filters. Tuning will be far easier and the bike will run much better. NGK bpr7eix plugs with non-resistor caps work well.

Makes sense, but I really love the look of a bike with open space under the seat, and having pods will do just that. It's all just an aesthetic thing, so I'm hoping at least someone has something good to say about pods! If everyone really hates the idea of pods so much, I may have to go back on that idea. :(:(

Dont believe everything you see, especially on the hundreds of cafe racer sites and blogs or instgrams or whatever else there is...

Most of those beautiful, shiny, seemingly brand new looking bikes from the 1970s, dont even run, have never even been started, or run like crap, or arent even registered..

Its funny how some of my buddies will show me this awesome clean cafe bike and tell me thats what they want.. Of course the first thing I notice is that theres not even a clutch cable, sometimes not even a fuel line, etc.

Our bikes use CV carbs, different carbs from what most Hondas used. Without getting too technical, the design of the Honda carbs is what allows you to run them wide open at the intake side and get that open look.

It can be made to work on our bikes, you can try to swap carbs and go through tuning hell...

I use a stock intake setup. My bike works as it should. I cruise the streets, and I open the thing full throttle redline every gear.. Its fully functional.

Carb swaps and different filter setups can be made to work, its just that most of the people on this forum dont bother with it. Once you get on and ride, thats all youll want to do.

Batteries plus carries a battery that's physically the same size as stock. Actually they carry two that will fit, one has a few more cold cranking amps. With a coupon the good one was about $50.
