Supercharging

Almost three years now for this one. Have you ridden this bike at all over this time?

ha ha, I got sidetracked

going to make a more concerted effort next year. Need to placate the missus and finish off the bathroom first.
need to get the micro squirt and fuel delivery sorted.

I thought I could try and up the charging rate but there is little I can do with that.

Looking forward to seeing it come together.
I'd love to supercharge a small bike. Finally have a place with a garage but have barely set up a working space, never mind being able to fabricate anything.

Trying to increase alternator output?
It occurred to me a while ago that a DC-DC boost converter could be used on the field coil supply. A 100W converter set to output 20V could boost the field coil magnetizing current to 5A from the stock ~3.5.
In theory it should boost alternator output by nearly the same ratio, however, I suspect the brushless design of our alternators probably limits maximum output.
Still, even a small boost to 16V might be helpful for charge rate at low RPMs.
A lot less work than doing a PMA conversion. Still not convinced about their actual output anyways.

i was told that uprating the white wires to carry more amps would be the best I could do. As I already have done that I'm going with a Mosfet fuel pump controller set to a pressure switch at 45psi will ensure that the drain will be minimum

jus a small update. I've still been gathering parts to get the Fi side going. I think I have all the sensors needed and am using a Honda integral fuel pump. This has a little casing around the pump to keep the thing cool. My last R6 fuel pump on the TDM kept seizing up and leaving me stranded.

hopefully sending off the throttle bodies to my machinist so the holes can be body holes can be filled and the fuel rail modded to suit the injector positions. This incorporates a fuel pressure sensor for my returnless fuel system.

I'll be watching for updates over the next couple of years for sure! I have one of these little blowers kicking around and haven't quite figured out what to do with it yet. I'm extremely curious to see what you come up with on the fuel injection side.

Good luck,
Chase

got myself an Ignitech unit off ebay, that'll drive the ignition and Fi side too.
ordering a fuel pump controller off Mahdu from the states.
