Hello, i recently bought a XS360.
needed some work to start, drove it a few km, all fine until ...
now it doesn't start at all (got it working with the kickstarter a few times but now it's dead)
posted some video's of it, perhaps some of you know what to do now ...
when i try to start it electrically, i get some weird 'clicks' from what i think is the starter ...
(you can hear the 'clicks at 21,21)

this is the one
on ON it 'worked' , on PRI it always works

Those petcocks arent that good. Dont waste money on a rebuild kit like i did either.

You should have a vacuum line coming off an intake boot on one of the carbs, and that should connect to the backside of the petcock.

That petcock operates by vacuum. The PRI position will bypass this feature.

I dumped that petcock and just got the simpler manual operated petcock.

An inline filter is recommended too.

Youll probably have to clean the carbs 10 times now too if theres a clog.

The 360 has a points ignition, that could be an issue too. We need more info on what you looked at and what you have adjusted so far.

thanks for the info and sorry that it took a while
figured the petcock out , so that's done
now i noticed the left cylinder isn't always firing
when starting it hardly ever fires, give it some good revs when driving and it kicks in and runs like it should ...
had a quick look at the points ignition but that didn't seem to be the problem
any ideas what to check first?

How old are plugs? Check valve clearances, then ignition timing, then carb synch.

Does Having a quick look at ignition mean you checked timing or not? If not......

The battery needs to be in good shape too and try not to leave the run switch in the ON postion for too long when the bike isnt running or trying to start.

took it a part and synced the carbs, that did the job for the 2nd cylinder.
just have to turn the revs down in idle now, but that's for a next time
thanks so far guys!

You synced them with a manometer? A bench sync is just a starting point. Makes a big difference.

Finally got it running, problem is that it's running way too rich.

Any of you know where the mixture screw would be on this type of carb? (I only seem to find the screw to adjust the butterfly valves and the idle screw)

Btw sorry for the picture quality.

Suppose IT should be this screw
Why is it blocked?

is it possible the mixture screw is at the bottom and i still have to drill the aluminium cover?

Blue and red are clear
Green seems to be blocked?
Right: can move it about half a rotation
Left: can't move it at all because it's blocked between 2 pins

The idle mixture screws had plastic caps over them which limited you to half a turn of adjustment. You can easily pull the caps off. Theyre nice to have because it will limit screw travel so you dont really have to pay attention to it. Be sure not to over tighten them! The tips are a needle and seat design and the tips get stuck in the carb body and break off. Lightly bottom out the screws, and then back them off 2-3 turns.
