My throttle cable returns and doesn't stick but the revs stay high. From reading I suspect my carbs are not synced/balanced properly or the like? If I turn the bike off and start it again, the idle is normal again.

Here is video of the issue.

Thanks Jeff. I forgot to mention that I checked for leaks around the boots, etc by spraying Carb cleaner and nothing, so it must be the Carb as you have suggested. Looks like I'll be taking it out again. Maybe I'll try the idle/mixture screws before that. I set them out 3 turns from bottom originally.

Usually 2 1/4- 2 1/2 does it but carb tuning is somewhat of a dark art.
Move the slides with your fingers, they should move smoothly and you should feel a "Bellow" effect.
The slides like anything else do get dirty and it will affect how smooth they go.

Same thing is happening to me. I don’t know a lot about carb tuning. I’m a teen and very new to it all. What should I do? (Mine only happens at 4000 rpm) no lower and I don’t think any higher

On most carbs you want the slides to be clean and dry, any wet lube will likely cause sticking.
I don’t even know where or what the slides are. I’m new to this, I can figure out a single cylinder bike but this is my first time dealing with 2. What should I do? I have a mechanic friend who has a carb sync kit but I don’t wanna make him do everything.

The slides are the barrels that slide up and down in the throttle body when you twist the throttle. Syncing is the last thing you should do after all other problems are taken care of....
