Bike will run after trickle charge but only maintains about 11.6V so I can make it to a place but struggle to re start it. RPM doesn't seem to effect running volts so something is up.

Initial thought was it was the old crunchy stator wire, but reading about some regulator issues as well. Sounds harder to test reg beyond, other than if passing other tests and still problems... might be reg.

Tested about and getting 1 ohm between white wires (slightly above .75 spec but resting ohms on my meter around .3), and 3.3 between green (slightly more concerning vs 4.0 spec). Drewcifer mentioned his stator read 1.9 but still charged despite out of spec.

I'll try testing rectifier next, otherwise will try to figure out if rec or wire related. I have spare alternator that came w bike but don't want to swap it unless I have to.

Rectifier tests okay, continuity all in one direction, not other. Leaves the usual suspects: regulator or old wiring. Going to do magnetism check next. Guessing if that works it's wire issue

Magnet tests ok. Pulls gauge immediately when turning key to on. So thinking shoddy wire most likely cause. Possibly regulator but going to try rewire first.

All this after re cleaning and seating float which is dumping fuel through left air filter (again, sigh). Was pretty happy with float height but think it gets hung up sometimes and doesn't go into needle seat
