Petcock sealing conundrum

part way through the rebuild and just about to fit the petcock
Now the bike came with 3, as the PO had struggled to find the right one
Two of them have the bolt holes too close together
So I got everything in place, then realised the design of the oval O ring means the bolt threads are in petrol. The only seal will be between the bolt head and the petcock body - I know this will leak.
So all you experts out there, is there something I’m missing?

A smaller petcock with oval seal that covers the bolt holes
Bolts in place with stainless washers
The only thing I can think is to put some O rings round the bolt threads on the petrol side of the tank.

The bolts are special shaped heads and use a gasket covered washer. This seals the bolts from leaking.
