Tank swap

Hey all, first post here. I was gifted a barn-stored 1977 XS400 with one of the original box style fuel tanks, but the tank was seriously swiss cheesed due to neglect. Are there any (XS or otherwise) tanks that might fit my frame? I'm actually fine with a different style tank, and I have access to a welder.I've been looking up and down the site, but being new to this I've just been getting a bit confused. Any hints or help would be VASTLY appreciated.

Im also looking for new tank. I have 1980 XS400 with the bigger fuel tank, rusty and need new one.
I'd like a bit smaller tank but don't like the box style one. I have thought about Honda CB360 tank, but don't know what modifications are needed.

I'm pissed cuz mine is overall great, but on one side has a massive dent in it, I thought about banging it out with a hammer from the inside, then bondo, BUT I do not want to get rid of the original paint job.

I really like the original paint job. I am firm believer in keeping vintage machines as stock and original as possible, but what would hurt value more.. the huge dent or a repair?

Im leaning towards just leaving it as is and just dealing with it. Shes old and it shows her age hahaha

I love the color of the bike you have. My 81 was that color from the factory but some ass painted it blue. Finding one in the correct yamaha new ruby red is very hard.

That's the worst. I had an XJ that someone poorly painted black over the stock blue.
