I’m in the process of my build project, and really want to do a suicide clutch / jockey shift. I want it to be a real foot clutch, not a hand clutch on the jockey. I’ve seen some really old posts on here mentioning a foot clutch, and the 650 forum has some build threads, but I was curious if anyone on here has done this combo, and any pointers or pictures that you could share.

Go for it it's shouldn't be that hard I have done it to my Sportster and love it! I am reworking my son's bike and am considering setting it up with a suicide clutch before giving it back to him. What kind of pointers are you looking for?

I’m just not sure of how I have to modify the existing clutch set up. I’ve seen that’s it’s better to avoid a cable system, and to connect the pedal to the clutch mechanism with a fire to connecting, using heim joints. I saw on the 650 forum guys needing worm gears. I guess I just don’t fully understand what action happens inside the case when the clutch is pulled.

It seems easy enough to reroute the clutch cable to a foot clutch instead of the hand lever and leave everything else alone. You should only have to reroute the cable to make it work. Of course youll have to have your foot controls established first. I dont think we have any forward controls available so youll have to get creative.

I did some looking at the actual clutch worm gear. Along with that, and some threads on the 650 page, I’m fairly certain I can fabricate everything I need to do. I’ll post pics when I get everything all fabbed.

Yeah, I figured it out. I ordered some tubing to a certain specification based off of the worm gear. Still working on the actual linkage, but the foot controls and worm gear shaft are complete.
