74 tx500

Hey I've been looking around a lot and I know there a ton of these posts but I acquired a 74 tx500 a few months back and have been trying to get it running.

I started with the basics, new battery, cleaned carbs, oil change, new spark plugs and checking the ignition coils for the appropriate Ohms. Well she still wouldn't go. So this is my first time working on a motorcycle and I dont know what the next place to start would be. I feel like its not getting enough spark but I did nearly almost get it going. It makes a popping noise like its going to go and then I get nothing. Any ideas?

Maybe switch the wiring to the coils? Cleaning and setting the points gap? Have you checked valve adjustment?

My coil wiring needed swapping left to right and then it ran. Best of luck.
