my secas tank is rusty beyond repair and finding a cheap useable one is almost impossible.

I've aske this question before and some lovely people on here said that any of the olde XS tanks would fit. Well thats total Bull. The older tanks have pins instead of cups at the from and they are 2-3 inches too short.

i've read on here that SR tanks fit but do they fit dohc bikes?

any help would be appreciated

I think the SOHC styles are all interchangeable but I have never heard of a DOHC one being swapped out.

Any time I have seen another model's tank used there is usually some modification involved.

Is the tank damaged from rust? Are there any holes or is it very brittle? I have saved a few bad ones with an acidic rust removal solution and BBs.

its got more perforations than a tea bag lol

The previous owner has tried to weld it but just made a mess of it.

I have an xj600 tank on its way it looks like it will fit

In theory, the XJ and XV tanks from the same years will at least have a large enough tunnel. Lengths may be different, though...

However, in theory, communism works.

yeah a maxim tank willfit but both the maxim and seca are 1 year only bikes in the uk so quite rare.

Sucess the XJ tank turned up and no it doesnt fit straight on but with a small adaptor for the mounting bolt and some grinding of the mounting cups and it will fit nicely.
here it is just laid on.
