Ive been looking through the forum for many days and it seems like every thread about vm30s and tuning them died 4-8 years ago, with the op never really getting them dialed in completely, or at least didnt post about it if they did...

The only thing I can suggest is putting some foam uni filters on it. It can only help as the ones you have are not good for direct on carb placement and offer very little filtering. It may not fix what ever the issue your having but can't hurt. What battery do you have in the bike? Your TCI ignition need to have a good battery to run correctly.

Ok, ill pick up somes unis soon, the battery is a antigravity lithium 4 cell, and its tucked down at the bottom of frame right behind the transmission.
I personally didnt do any of the mods on this bike except put the vm30s on it, i bought the bike pretty much as it looks.

Is that front tire mounted backwards? Can't really tell but it looks like it should stack up water in it to hydroplane if you get caught in the rain..........and what keeps the front tire from swallowing the front brake cable that is apparently not affixed right at the tire line?

I think I have the same front tire on one of my bikes. Mine is a kenda and yes it is mounted correctly. Looks strange from the pattern but it's how it goes. They had the same design back in the late 90's and it went the other way. Must have changed there minds or it tested better in the opposite direction.

Isn't Kenda a low price Chinese brand? Meaning I would suspect the directional arrow of maybe being molded backwards. I know some freaky tires have patterns that are marked in what looks to be backwards but I will not run them if like that. The pattern does what it will do with a water stackup and I refuse to go there. It's already crap design as the center groove cannot empty of water and the angled ones that should connect with it but don't are then shoving more water into it when they overload to make it worse.

The direction arrow says its goin the right way, doesnt matter much though as i got the tire for like $50 and dont ever plan on riding on wet roads.
What keeps my cable from being eaten is my hopes and dreams lol
I dont have a fender, so i just zip tied it to the fork in a way where it doesnt hit stuff

I been using that tire for years. I never ride in rain also. If I see rain on the radar I avoid it all together. I would never ride on roads with enough water to cause issues anyhow.

Fraidy cats..............lol. I rode nothing but bikes year round from age 12 until I got my first car at 26 years old. Rain, sleet, snow, silly me I had to go to a job, even in ice, but that idea died with the first time I wrecked on ice. Ever seen pants frozen to a leg to pull out hair when you remove them from being frozen stuck to legs? BTDT. I've frozen throttle, key, and and killswitch at 20 degrees and 70 mph to run through stoplights when the throttle stuck due to frozen after it rained on bike earlier in the day. Interesting.

On the cable, take a short piece of metal coat hanger wire and bend up a cable stay maybe 4 inches long to fasten it down with a fender hole bolt. Bend it outwards and up a bit for more clearance, and right at the tire line where it cannot possibly get in to eat. Free part that done correctly will look like bike came with it as OEM part. I use coat hanger for custom cable stays all the time and you can't tell they didn't come from the factory.

That cable is a safety issue and I've seen them eaten before just like that. It may make you go down, rain or not.

Of course yours and do as you will................
