So I've got a very bad old fusebox on my 1980 xs400 Usa custom with glass fuses (the stock one).
Now I want to replace it. Do you guys have any experience with this? And some tips and tricks on what to look out for. I've already read something about this on a different thread. But not the exact proces and things you need to look out for.

Cheers in advance!

I replaced the glass fuse fusebox on every single pre-84 Yamaha I ever owned.

I don't like inline fuse holders. That's just cheesy.

Most recently, I made an amazing custom fusebox. But, that is probably not accessible to everyone.

Four-fuse fuseboxes are oddly hard to find. Commonly available ones with side terminals are actually godawful huge. I got one and realized I would not be able to latch the seat if I installed it in the original location.

Many fuseboxes have a common terminal on one side. These will not work. You need a fusebox with completely separate terminals.

The easiest thing to do on an XS400 is to use a Littelfuse 350418BP 5-position bottom terminal fusebox. You get your four fuses, plus a spot for a spare. It bolts into the stock location if you move the bracket over a little.
