Seal Replacement Overhaul/Cam Chain removal

I'm currently replacing the engine seals due to a major oil leak from where the head meets the lower. I have the cam cover off, and stud nuts off as well. however I'm stuck as to how I need to get the timing chain off to remove the entire head. I have it set at dead center with the master link but the link itself doesn't have a clip to remove it. Do I need to order a new chain and cut off the old one or is there a special tool I need in order to remove the link?

Post 2 there and you want part 1 download which has cam in it. Then section 7, page 24 in the document.

The chain is endless, you don't break it at all. You remove sprocket bolts to get it loose and chain then comes off. Use coat hanger wire or other to keep loose chain from falling inside engine, a big mistake.
