Hey there everyone! I just picked up an 81 xs400 from a guy that I work with as a project bike. I am semi new to the bike modding world, but have some fab knowledge. I am hoping to turn this bike into a hard tail bobber, that is completely bare bones, nothing that it doesn't need to run (including kick start only!!). From what I have seen, this site may be new but seems to have a wealth of knowledge already! I will be asking A LOT of questions, so I hope you all don't mind! Here is a pic of when I brought the bike home, and then another after a few hours of stripping it down (it doesn't currently run, it's had gas in the tank since somewhere around 1991!!) but it seems to have compression. My plan right now is to get it into the roller that I want, then work on the motor. Sorry for the novel!
