WHAT A FUCKING MORON!! I know jack shit about mechanics but christ that's rediculously ignorant. I mean fuck If I have never done anything like that I wouldn't go fuck with a key part of my bike!
"Now, in the past, when I've done this before, I then proceded to weld it all together. And, in the past, I've failed miserably every time. I don't know why, but I can't weld on exhaust pipes. I can weld anything else reasonably well, but exhaust headers just will not be welded. They melt, burn holes, and just won't weld. I don't know why--I've tried all settings, all kinds of rods, everything I can think of, but it won't work. So this, time, I'm not even going to try. This time, I'm brazing it with silicone bronze.
I have never, ever, brazed anything before in my life, so I figure that I won't bother to practice and will just go straight for the headers.
Now, the key to successful brazing, I'm told, is very good prep work. The surfaces to be brazed have to be completely clean. A wire brush in my angle grinder took car of most of it...but what about all the carbon inside? I wonder if that would interfere with anything? Why take chances....
