    Filter on top of petcock

XSchris, but he has an inline filter so no junk should get into the carbs. The pipe should still be there, the filter just covers them both. Actually the bottom plastic comes up about 1/8" from the bottom with it not being there you can get all the gas in the tank.

    Replace Butterfly Gaskets

Does the Stealership have them in stock? Because MikesXS has them for $5.95 + shipping for 2pk. I removed them and replaced them with ones I found at my local hardware store. I bought like 6 for $2. Tested them in gas as well, never became brittle or cracked.

    Filter on top of petcock

Petcock filter. As long as you have that inline filter, you should be just fine.

    Filter on top of petcock

That should do you just fine, as it is doing exactly what the petcock filter would have been doing.

    Filter on top of petcock

if you run an in-line fuel filter you don't need one. I don't have the filters on my Manual petcocks on any bike, I just run a 90* inline fuel filter.

    Phantom/False Neutral

Oil, what do you use? Whenever I raced without ATF in my YZ250 or YZ450f, I was getting false neutrals in the holeshot or long stretches. Now I run Royal Purple or ATF type f in everything. much less false neutral than when I ran "Cheaper conventional oils. Lots of people swear by 15-30w...

What did you do with your XS today?

installed my piston rings and new fuse box, can someone tell me if the orientation of the rings are correct? It's been awhile and the manual doesn't have any pictures. I don't think they can fit any other way, but the top and center looked close to being able to swap.

Chain tension increases as wheel spins.

non- Oring chains are everywhere, but require more maintenance. And can last longer. #50 chain is pretty strong, not sure about the tensile strength but I bet it's not going to break under the load of a 400. I run a river link on my 450, but not on my other bikes, clip style link is perfectly...

    Ultrasonic Cleaner

The best cleaner is dish soap. I've never used anything but lemon joy and my carburetors come out perfectly clean every time. Our shop does the same for our truck parts. Also remove the O-rings from the butterfly valves or you will ruin them.

sounds like it needs to be re-jetted. have you checked the plugs, what have you changed?
