Hello fellow XS riders,
Have any of you upgraded front brakes on your XS400? If so, what did you use/do?
I could just replace the pads but I'm looking to get a little more stopping power and if anyone has any tips or suggestions, let me know!
Thanks!
Brian

How did this end up working? I have a 54mm Emgo pod in my shopping cart... Just waiting for a good response. I also will be increasing the main jets one size up from stock. Thoughts? (I have a 82' DOHC XS400)
Thanks for the quick response!
The mixture is definitely lean... All the symptoms you listed are exactly what's going on with my bike...
What adjustment should I make? The mixture screw is out 3.5 turns currently.

Hello all,
Currently my bike (82' XS400 Maxim) is running great but I want to put air pods on instead of the stock air box/filter.
Everything is stock - including my exhaust.
What jets should I order?
If anyone has done this or knows what I should do, your help would be appreciated!

Sandy,
I know this was 3 years ago now, but did you end up using the window?
I have way too much oil in my bike for some reason and it is above the window. Wondering if draining some oil until it reaches the top of the window will help my oil leak issues. (Oil is dripping from over flow tube).
Also ---
Should I be using the site glass to determine if there is too much oil?
Currently the oil level is over the top of the site glass so technically I have no idea how much oil is too much.
Thanks!
Question...
So last summer I changed the oil on my bike (1982 XS400 Maxim) and ever since then it has been dripping oil from the air box overflow tube.
Anybody know why this happened? I put in the recommended amount of oil.
Thanks for you help!
Thanks, @Liamthedevastator, my father and I spent a lot of time debating that alignment. We found it looked best with the top of the seat aligning with the top of tank.
