Thanks for your reply. I got lucky. From memory, I’d added Marvel Mystery Oil to my last tank. Once it was fully charged, it kicked over and I took it up the road for fresh fuel. Thankfully, I didn’t have to bother with the carbs. Took it for a spin and it’s running well.

How long would you need to leave your bike sitting before you’d need to pull your carbs and clean them three times? Took it for a quick HWY run and it seems to have eased. I'll do it again on the weekend. I'll keep an eye on it and might just change the oil when I switch this 400 top end onto it (currently 250) in the new year. Cheers guys.

Haven't done a compression test. I'll drain it and put a new filter in. Could this be the result of putting a splash of Marvel Mystery oil in it? I'm guessing that's a strong possibility. What's an Italian service @drewpy?

Can someone please tell me what's happening here. Breather on the crank case is spewing oil. Oil was changed in January and I've probably put 1,500km on it since. I have my provisional license test tomorrow. Perfect timing!!

The back bracket its wrong too and doesn't seem to place it in the right spot. I just found one that should do the trick on eBay. $80 inc post for a rusty old thing.

Thanks! I have another question. Looking at the parts in my box, I have the filter boxes, brackets and tubes that run back to the carbs. On those tubes, there's an inlet/outlet in the middle. What needs to happen there? Something obviously plugs in there but I don't know what.

And then do you need to stray some kind of lubricant on the foam? I've just decided to drop the pods and go back to stock.
