You can't say anything further then, because you clearly have nothing to add to the conversation.

    Exhaust Temperatures

Simple solution for your 7k rpm stumbles, either it's your float bowl adjustment or your fuel adjustment. Also, when I say that carb tuning is the solution to every engine modification, it essentially is, for all intensive purposes. When you change out an air filter for a higher air-flow filter...

    Exhaust Temperatures

I really give no shits about the actual temperatures, because they'll be consistent. I don't need real temps to tell if the temperature changes, and you have no idea if your bike is making any more power, you're basing it off anecdotal evidence? Also, why does every single person on this...

    Exhaust Temperatures

Bought a new temp gauge. Running at about 370f right out of the pipe, about 280f at the weld in the middle. Going to order the jetting kit and check out temps when I cut the baffle.

    Exhaust Temperatures

Does anybody have stock exhaust temperatures for the '82 XS400 Maxim? (DOHC, YICS) I'm looking at new exhuasts and in the mean time also looking for my temperature probe and I was wondering what the difference between the stock pipes are and an almost straight pipe design would be. Also, has...

    Aftermarket Carbs

I've worked on all my bikes too, I've taken them to dynos. My wr250f rejetted without a baffle makes more torque, and slightly more hp. I made an example that making any adjustment requires rejetting. If you say that they're trash with no explanation, it makes you sound like an amateur who...

    Aftermarket Carbs

Its not a "you ask we tell" situation. Your opinion doesn't change if I want a new exhaust on my bike, I don't care that the carbs need tuning, hell, my little wr250f needed to be rejet with just the baffle removed. I understand how these bikes work, and I've asked how things perform and I get...

    Aftermarket Carbs

I'm moving states here pretty soon so I won't be able to work on the bike for the next few weeks, however I may just end up buying a jetting kit and building my own exhaust, it seems that every time anyone tries to ask a question about the carbs or performance the immediate response is "keep it...

    Aftermarket Carbs

I was just looking for a little more power out of the bike and I figured with a new exhaust system, those carbs would be better since they don't have the vacuum operated secondaries and whatnot. Our bikes run better gravity fed than with the vacuum so I figured I'd find something else easier to...

    Aftermarket Carbs

Looking to upgrade exhausts and I was wondering if these carbs would work well with our bikes and if anyone has used them in the bikes? These are supposed to be performance carbs, what's the difference and is it any better than the stock carbs with a new exhaust?

Anyone get carbs clogged all the time?

Took out the pilot jets, blew em out with air, then the air propelled the jet away  Took out some 425 (stock) jets I had left over from a new rebuild kit and threw them in. Started up perfectly and idled steadily, and revved quickly. May update when I receive the brake parts Tuesday.

Anyone get carbs clogged all the time?

Not sure. Replaced the pilot jets but I have yet to put the bike together. I just noticed the bike wouldn't idle correctly but as soon as it hit 4k rpms it would be fine.

Anyone get carbs clogged all the time?

Update, not sand but the pilot jets are clogged, possibly from previous removal. Will update if anything arises.

Anyone get carbs clogged all the time?

I live in South east MI right now and my local mobil sells 89, 93, 98, and 110 and the former 3 have some ethanol. The tank was cleaned thoroughly with alcohol and vacuums, new fuel filter as well. I live in a sandy area so it could be sand coming through the air filter, I never checked that.

Anyone get carbs clogged all the time?

Fuel filter has been on there since I got the bike. Haven't opened the carbs for 2 weeks so idk what is in the carbs.

Anyone get carbs clogged all the time?

I've only put 98 octane in and used an ethanol reducer, no ethanol based fuel.

Anyone get carbs clogged all the time?

Working on the bike, bought the caliper rebuild kit and put ethanol reducer in the fuel, and everytime the bike sits for over a week, the carbs get clogged with stuff. Right now my pilot jets are clogged, so I have to pull the carbs again. Doing the msf course today so I won't be able to do it... :/

    Help! Carbs are pissing gas..

Definitely float bowl adjustments. Same thing happened to me when I rebuilt the carbs. Make sure your brass float is adjusted to 26mm and if you have plastic bowls, I believe it's around the 32mm mark.

    Brake Caliper

I ended up buying a whole new rebuild kit (piston and all) on ebay for $55 I believe from powerhouse. That was a pain in the a$$ to look for lol
