I have a new gasket just trying to figure out if I should also add gasket sealant on it. I don’t want it to leak oil. Also it’s my first time ever doing this so I want to be prepared.

Hey guys I plan on doing my first Vavle clearance check in my 83 Xs400 DOHC. should I use gasket sealant on the replacement valve cover gasket? I went over the service menu and got all the tools needed to do the job. My bike is a 1983 XS400 Seca.

I want to do a complete rebuild on the forks change out oil seals and clean up the fork tubes I don't know when it was last service. I also have to replace the triple tree bearings.
