    Brake Piston Blues

Disregard piston question. I was using a 3 ounce canister mini grease gun and could not tell if it was working. Took two tubes but took lots more pumping than I would have thought. Easy to clean, and I was able to screw the grease gun tip into the banjo bolt hole.

Weak field from 1980 generator coil

SUP, blood? Thank you and thanks again. Got 14 volts. Voltage regulator. Thanks again, you set a good example. I wanted something with just enough power to get me over the river on a freeway bridge. Then, I find a county road and the 400 is perfect. P.S. Difference between a woman and a...

Weak field from 1980 generator coil

Stator test @.8 all three after deducting .6 from meter. Re soldering wires now with bend for case. Figure continuity test during steps to button up. Wanted to rewire anyway. Contact cleaner everything and connectors. Thank you!

Weak field from 1980 generator coil

Same with case attached to bike and stator and coil in place. Only attracts to coil itself.

It's off the bike still attached to case. Attach case and retest is what I should try next? Thank much for reading.

Weak field from 1980 generator coil

In the past I've gotten a magnetic field from the generator field coil and it magnetized anything on the case. Now, if I bypass everything and put good new battery to coil green, it only magnetizes the coil and not the case. Book shows 4 ohms, I show 4.2. Stator ohms good and equal. Ideas...

    DELETED RESOLVED

Resolved! The stator and coil wires were held in casing by the triangle object . The coil wire bundle has one wire out of it going to the triangle object and one other wire going to the engine. Apparently the triangle is an oil sensor and the other is a wire going to a neutral switch. Thanks...

    DELETED RESOLVED

Good idea, I'll get a picture. The coil and stator wires all go to a grommet on the bottom of the cover and then the wires disappear into the bike. I'm trying to figure out how to get the cover off with the stator attached to it. If I pull just a bit, the bottom won't go anywhere cause the...

    DELETED RESOLVED

Hours of carefully not stripping socket bolts from left side generator cover. (Heat, cool, repeat). Now, wires at bottom of cover prevent removing cover. Do not want to strip anything. Suggestion? Cannot see very well due to cover bottom not moving. Some way to push wires out? Simple stuff...
